Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah ans Shen.  He named it Ebenezer, saying, "Thus far has the LORD helped us."

This summer Kerri, Alan, (Micah’s Grandparents)  and Micah (my son) went on a trip to DC. DC was a great trip for Micah who is fascinated with all things factual. As they walked about DC they could not help but notice that every monument that was there was some kind of Edifice to man. They felt strongly that more should be done to create monuments that testified to God and not something about man.
When they returned God showed them about the Ebenezer (see 1 Sam 7:12).  They decided to build something that would honor God.  They turned to the family to get input as what to build, all kinds of ideas where thrown out. We thought of waterfalls, things with light, man made rock carvings, using concert.... soon it became evident that we were on the same course to build something that would be all about man and not God.   We were thinking about what WE could build.  We found out how easy it was to go down this path.

n the end we decided to build a rock stack, an Ebenezer (see 1 Sam 7:12).  This Ebenezer represents all the ways in the past year that God has helped our family and saved us from calamity. From Micah getting temporally lost on a subway in DC, to Chloe and her friends escaping from a four wheeling accident only needed some stitches, and Noah driving around.  God has been with us.  God has been our Ebenezer, our help in times of trouble.

It was decided that all the rock should come from family land and that everyone needed to be a part of the rock selection. We had a "rock selection committee" that consisted of family members, dogs, a John Deere Gator, chains, a spud bar, and a tractor.

After months of work it is getting taller but we are still not quite finished yet but it is really taking shape.

Last Sunday we picked out Scriptures and engraved them on the rock.

Arab Year

Arab Spring- Arab Year,

Amazing things are happening  in the Middle East.  God is reconciliation His people.  Remember that promise to Ishmael  the genealogy line the Islamic people follow...

Genesis 21
Hagar and Ishmael Sent Away
The child grew and was weaned, and on the day Isaac was weaned Abraham held a great feast. But Sarah saw that the son whom Hagar the Egyptian had borne to Abraham was mocking, 10 and she said to Abraham, “Get rid of that slave woman and her son, for that woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac.”
11 The matter distressed Abraham greatly because it concerned his son. 12 But God said to him, “Do not be so distressed about the boy and your slave woman. Listen to whatever Sarah tells you, because it is through Isaac that your offspring[b] will be reckoned. 13 I will make the son of the slave into a nation also, because he is your offspring.”14 Early the next morning Abraham took some food and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar. He set them on her shoulders and then sent her off with the boy. She went on her way and wandered in the Desert of Beersheba.15 When the water in the skin was gone, she put the boy under one of the bushes. 16 Then she went off and sat down about a bowshot away, for she thought, “I cannot watch the boy die.” And as she sat there, she[c] began to sob.
17 God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. 18 Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.19 Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.20 God was with the boy as he grew up. He lived in the desert and became an archer.21 While he was living in the Desert of Paran, his mother got a wife for him from Egypt.

Look at this one Isaiah 60:7All Kedar’s flocks will be gathered to you,    the rams of Nebaioth will serve you;they will be accepted as offerings on my altar,    and I will adorn my glorious temple.
Matthew 12:25
Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.

What does it mean?  Seek God on it, He will show you.

I believe  we are seeing the beginning of the reconciling of the relationship to our Arabic brothers and sisters.  They are not the enemy as many of us have believed.  They too are God's children and He longs to build a relationship with them.

The 2nd

Read at your own risk**

Government exist to exert control and power over people. This power operates under the dominion and control of forces of evil. God works through this and accomplishes his will. Government is not the "vessel" of God. If you doubt, go read about what God says to the Israelites when they beg for a King.(1 Samuel 8:1-22)

Don't let your faith be tied to something that exist in the physical that derives it power from the enemy.

Stop fooling yourself in to thinking that the way you vote or don't vote determines ones faithfulness to God.

We are witnessing the world setting up and moving closer to the things that are foretold in Revelation. I feel like its' not in my lifetime, but its easy to see how its gettering "prepped" and primed for end times. I have no fear of this, in fact I welcome it. For I know that I have God's seal upon me. Really why are you worried about your guns? If you are worried about your guns, you are like the guy that has brought a knife to a gun fight. This is a spiritual battle. If you try to fight it in the physical it will just speed you up to go fight in the Spiritual.

This is way bigger than any gun. Guns are useless against the spiritual powers we are fighting against. Make no mistake, this is a battle, but guns are useless in the battle. Don't let guns distract you from seeing with you Spiritual Eyes and seeing the battle for what it really is. You are properly equipped to fight this battle if you realize that your faith doesn't not rest in the second amendment. In fact, they way some talk about taking arms against an aggressive government is no different than the muslim extremist that call for a jihad.

Palo Duro Trek

The last leg of our trip was a night in Palo Duro Canyon. I had never been before. I was amazed at how big and beautiful it was. We spent the night in a cabin there in the canyon. The next day we hiked a bit before coming home.
